Review: Wingstop does not live up to the hype

The worst fast food I have ever tried

Recently, I had the opportunity to try Wingstop for the first time ever, and needless to say I was extremely disappointed.

For years all of my friends and family have raved about this popular wing spot, and I finally decided to give it a try.

I’m usually the person to order chicken strips everywhere since I tend to shy away from trying different things, so I had figured this would be a “safe food” for me.

I had ordered a large ten-piece boneless wing combo with fries and a Coke.

The wings were Cajun flavored, which my friend had suggested. I placed my order and was told it would be about 20 minutes, which I understood since the restaurant did seem pretty busy.

After waiting I got my food and drove home, and I could smell the wings and my hopes were pretty high.

That feeling did not last long.

First off, Wingstop fries are one of the most disgusting french fries I have ever had the displeasure of eating and I mean that sincerely.

They were cold and soggy, which after a 20-minute wait is simply ridiculous, and had a terrible sweetness to them which I would later find out is due to how Wingstop prepares them.

The ranch was okay, but certainly did not help improve the french fries at all.

The wings I got were the best part of the meal which doesn’t mean a lot in this context.

Lukewarm and chewy are just a few adjectives to describe them, but all in all they were just okay.

For the not very valuable price of $15, Wingstop managed to disappoint me in a way no fast food restaurant has before, solely because I don’t understand how they could ruin french fries that badly.

After telling my friends about this encounter it has been suggested to me that maybe it’s just this restaurant that is the problem, and that another location may have better quality food.

However, I don’t see myself giving this restaurant another chance for a very long time.
