If you are staring at your Blue and Gold page not knowing what to click to register for your upcoming classes, don’t worry. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to register for the upcoming semester.
Now there’s two ways you can do this, you can either use the Schedule Planner feature or do it the old school way and look up your classes individually. If you decide to use the Schedule Planner feature you can insert breaks in between your classes and view a variety of schedules depending on your courses.
Step 1: Login into Blue and Gold. If you have trouble accessing your Blue and Gold, login through JNET, and then click on the campus resources tab and select Blue and Gold on the right-hand side.
Step 2: Click on the registration tab.
Step 3: Hold down the CTRL key and press on login to Schedule Planner. A new window should pop-up allowing you to decide what term to take. If a new window does not pop-up make sure your pop-up blocker is disabled.
Step 4: To add the courses you are planning to take in the upcoming semester click on the tab “add course” on the left side of your screen. Select from a drop-down menu the subject and course you wish to take then click the add course tab located at the bottom. You’ve successfully added the course when it appears on the right-hand side. Once all your classes are added click done.
The next step is optional. If you want to add a break to your schedule, or dodge those 8 a.m. classes, click on “add a break.” Name the break, and select the time and days you wish to not have classes. Once you have your times and dates sorted out, click on “add break” on the bottom of your screen.
Step 5: Click on generate schedules on lower left-hand side to preview different schedules.
Step 6: At the top of each schedule, a table with the CRN numbers will appear along with other information about the courses. It is important to write all these CRN numbers down to identify the classes you wish to take.
Step 7: Close the Schedule Planner window and return to the registration window on your Blue and Gold. Select the Add/ Drop Classes tab.
Step 8: Scroll to the bottom of your screen to find blank boxes running horizontally. Insert each CRN into a box and hit submit.
CONGRATS! At this point of your registration process, you will receive an automatic e-mail confirming that you have successfully registered for the upcoming semester.
If you have decided to do it the old-school way, repeat steps 1 and 2.
Step 3: Click on the Look Up Classes tab, and select the term you are planning to take.
Step 4: Select the subject and the course. You may select the course by clicking “view sections.” In this window you should be able to see the different professors teaching the class and the times the class is available.
Step 5: After you have decided which class to take, check the box to the left of the CRN number and press register when you are finished.
You did it! You have successfully registered for one of your classes, repeat steps 3 to 5 to register for the rest of your classes.
