Debut album by ERNEST is perfect for the summer
I am no avid country music fan, but after listening to this album, I just might become one.
Released on March 11, Flower Shops has quickly become one of my favorite country albums.
This album makes you want to cruise around for hours with the volume on MAX and the windows down. The first song of this album is called “Sucker For Small Towns.” It being the first song you hear was a wise choice as it leaves a great impression.
Upon listening to it, you know the rest of the album is going to be just as good. I will not be surprised if I hear this song playing on the radio.
This album explores themes of love, gratitude and heartbreak. Half of the songs have a catchy, upbeat feel to them while the others have a slower feel. This album resonates with whatever feeling you are in.
All of the songs in this album are good, but the song that hooked and reeled me in was “Flower Shops” (feat. Morgan Wallen).
Listening to this song for the first time feels like reliving the best experiences you have had all over again. The first time you tried ice cream, the first time you went to the beach, the first time you found love. It makes you want to scream the lyrics at the top of your lungs. I do not think I will get over this song anytime soon.
Just when I thought things could not get better, I come to find out that ERNEST has an acoustic version of “Flower Shops.” This version is heaven-sent. It allows us to pay more attention to their voices which sound so well together.
Considering ERNEST has written songs for other country artists like Florida Georgia Line and Wallen, it is no surprise that this album is good. ERNEST is quickly making his way to the top of the charts.
This is not your typical country album. Most of the songs have a pop feel to it, which is not necessarily a bad thing as it makes this album more refreshing.
It is a good album for people who want to get into country music to listen to. Overall, I give this album a 9/10. I highly recommend.
