In compliance with the “Timely Notice” provisions of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Police are giving notice of an alleged Stalking at Engineering Complex 917 W Ave. B., on the Texas A&M University – Kingsville campus. The incident was reported on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at approximately 12:01 P.M.
OFFENSE: Stalking
SUSPECTS: Male wearing a black t-shirt top with a yellow triangular logo on front left chest with the same logo on the back of the shirt, light gray sweatpants and white shoes.
Complainant reported that:
A male subject entered the engineering complex, causing a disturbance with a female student. Both individuals were known to each other. The male, who is not a current student, is not allowed to contact the female student as per conditions of his probation. The male entered a classroom and tried to attack the female, who was sitting in class. While the male attempted to attack the female, he was stopped by other students inside the classroom and escorted out of the building. The male is still at large at this time.
Until this investigation has been concluded, it can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the community. It is the duty of the institution to warn of possible “dangerous conditions” in the nearby community as well as on its property; an “affirmative duty” exists to warn of possible peril at the hands of some third party.

Safety Tips
· Be aware of your surroundings and pay attention to suspicious-looking persons or activities by constantly scanning around you.
· If you must park off campus, choose a well-lit and populated area to leave your vehicle. Check the area out when returning to your car; look in and around your car before entering it.
· Walk with other people, especially at night or in an unfamiliar area.
· If you are confronted, try to get a good description of the individual(s), a description of the vehicle and license plate number if possible.
· Pay attention to your surroundings, and return to a safe place if something doesn’t look right.
· Park your vehicle in university parking lots.
· At night on campus, use the Blue & Gold shuttle program or call UPD for escort service.
· Have emergency numbers available to contact help. Immediately report any crime or suspicious activity to the Texas A&M University-Kingsville police department (361) 593-2611.
