The tension and stress of this election was exhausting. It was nerve wracking not knowing who was going to lead our country. This is the first time in history that we have a female Vice President elect, which is awesome!
However, there is no question that no matter what the outcome of the election was there was going to be some kind of chaos.
It’s important to remember that not one single person is ever going to come into office and fix every problem in America. There will be people rejoicing and there will be people upset. It is inevitable. I hope people will remember that violence, bullying, rioting and destruction is not the answer and not the path to peace.
We wouldn’t be where we are right now if we had decided to go to war for everything that made us upset. The important thing that I hope all Americans will accept is that now that we know who our leader is, it’s time to move forward.
This is the opportunity to start fresh, and start actually working together to make positive changes that are going to benefit the nation. It’s time to listen to each other, with open hearts and be willing to see a different side of the coin. So many people turned up to vote this election because they knew how important it was and knew how important it was to use their voice, so let’s not waste these four years fighting and getting nothing done. My hope is that all of our representatives in Congress will also put their personal differences aside and help build a future with unity.
