The Javelina football team defeated Lincoln University on Saturday night in their final non-conference game with a final score of 51-21.
This is the first time this season that the Javelinas were able to break a 50-point game, and this win makes the Javelinas overall record 3-3 and conference record 1-2.
“We have a winning record and that says a lot thinking back to all of the diversity we have gone through as a team,” Craig Clemons, a wide receiver for the Javelinas, said. “We’ve all sacrificed to have a great season and it looks well as of right now.”
During all four quarters of the game the Javelinas held the lead starting with a touchdown early on in the first quarter. The Javelinas got into the endzone three times in the first quarter putting the score at 19-0 to go into the second quarter of the game.

The Javelinas opened up the second half with the first touchdown of the third quarter. Lincoln got their score up to 14, but the Javelinas wanted more and were able to end the quarter with a score of 39-14.
In the final quarter of the game the Javelinas reeled in two more touchdowns while the visitors scored once more and left Javelina Stadium with the score board reading 51-21.
This game was something to see with the Javelinas bringing in a total of eight touchdowns for the win.
“It was good to see the offense gain some confidence and have a fun night,” Christian Anderson, a running back for the Javelinas, said.
With the season getting ready to come to an end soon, the Javelinas are looking for their chance to play post season football.
“I feel like we’re in a pretty good position to play in postseason this year; we just have to continue to work and get better at practices,” Cory McMahan, a defensive back for the Javelinas, said.
The Javelinas’ next home game is their homecoming game which will take place at 7 p.m., Oct. 30, at Javelina Stadium.
