Testing positive for COVID-19 is nothing to feel shame over, and it’s definitely not something you should hide. If you know you’re COVID positive, tell someone. Your employer, your friends if you’ve been in close contact with them and anyone else you may have exposed.
We don’t need the CDC to tell us that if we test positive for COVID to stay home. It’s common sense and human decency at that point.
If you feel yourself getting sick, or have been exposed, get tested. If you test positive, stay home and quarantine until you test negative or for however long the CDC recommends, based on your vaccination status. It’s selfish putting others at risk knowing you are shedding a potentially deadly virus.
Don’t be the unvaccinated politician who knowingly goes out to eat at a restaurant days after testing positive for COVID-19.
Sarah Palin, former Alaska governor, was seen dining out in New York City last week after getting positive test results back for COVID just two days prior.
Palin went out with a group of people and by doing so, she selfishly put others at risk, which in turn puts those who they come in contact with at risk, thus continuing a never-ending cycle of catching the virus.
If more people did their part, wore their mask, got vaccinated and got tested when they felt sick, then maybe COVID-19 wouldn’t have a great hold over our country anymore.
Being in isolation for a few days is a small price to pay for keeping others, friends and loved ones safe and healthy.
Yes, it’s not fun to be quarantined while you see everyone else go on with their lives, but it’s necessary to prevent the spread of the virus.
If we ever want this pandemic to slow down or end, we must do our part by staying home and quarantining when we are COVID positive, continuing to wear masks and getting vaccinated.
We are not alone in this pandemic, so let’s work together.
