Smoking Crab is located right across Javelina Stadium next to the Javelina Mart. Being born in a seafood city, I heavily rely on good seafood occasionally, and Smoking Crab has settled that argument really. The amount of love that the employees put into the food and customers when they stop by the restaurant is unmatched.
Smoking Crab has a lot of different options to choose from. Their menu ranges from seafood boils to seafood sandwiches. They have a wide variety of everything. One of my personal favorites is the Shrimp Po’boy, a classic toasted French bread with lettuce, tomatoes and golden Cajun fried shrimp, topped off with the classic but secret Cajun sauce that hits the right way every time. Another favorite is the fried fish and shrimp combo over a spread of tasty Cajun fries with a side of secret Cajun sauce.
Born in New Orleans, La., the amount of tasty food that I have tried over the years has been a part of the good things in life. Being able to have some good seafood reminds me of times when I was little, and my family would go back often.
The utmost respect must go to the Cajun seafood boiled combo which includes crab, shrimp, sausage, potatoes and a boiled egg. The entire boil is made to perfection and that is the only way it should be.
The star of the show, in my opinion, is the shrimp because it brings everything full circle along with that perfect Cajun blend that allows you to sink in that moment, taste the best part of the meal, and remember why you chose that specific boil combo. Without a doubt, Smoking Crab Seafood has unquestionably carved its way into my dinner list every day.
