Former pro tennis mom
Caroline Wozniacki is a Danish professional tennis player. She held the no.1 ranking in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) for 71 weeks, she became the world No.1 for the first time on Oct. 11, 2010.
Wozniacki became the first Scandinavian player to be ranked No.1 in the world, she has won 30 WTA singles titles.
Amongst many of her WTA titles, Wozniacki added the Australian Open to her bag of trophies in 2018, becoming the first Danish player to win a major grand slam.
Wozniacki is known for her tremendous footwork and defensive skills, she is one of the hardest players to hit a winner against.
She is one of the biggest grinders in the WTA tour. She is also best friends with one of the greatest tennis players of all times Serena Williams, they played doubles together for the only time in their careers at the 2020 Auckland Open.
While making the 2020 Australian Open her farewell tournament, she ended her successful career in the third round.
Wozniacki is recognized for her defensive baseliner game style, best described as a counterpuncher she was extremely consistent, hardly gave away errors. She could run for days, and she picked up most of the balls her opponent threw at her.
As a tennis player myself, I always looked up to her when it came to defensive skills and ground usage.
Her balance on the court was unbelievable. She had great anticipation of the ball and read her opponent extremely well.
Another one of her weapons was her two-handed backhand, she often used her backhand to turn a defensive point into an offensive one.
Caroline is married to David Lee, a former NBA basketball player, she is the mother of two children, Olivia Wozniacki Lee and James Wozniacki Lee.
In 2023, Wozniacki announced her return to professional tennis. Since the announcement Wozniacki has already made strides in the tennis world beating fellow competitor
Petra Kvitova (World No.1) in the second round of the 2023 US Open in the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
She is truly an inspiration and a true super mom.
After taking a break from tennis for three years Caroline decided that it was time to get back and give it another go.
She lost to Coco Gauff in round 16 but as her first grand slam after three years, she made some big moves and even bigger upsets.
Wozniacki was amongst nine other moms who were competing in the US Open this year.
