I would have never thought that a conversation held under a tree on campus with Nicole Morris would lead me to where I am today.
Despite the many tears and stressful deadlines, I would do it all over again if I could.
I am so grateful for my friend Ronni Reyna and her suspicious snapchat at 1 a.m. on a random morning asking if I would like to deliver papers around town for The South Texan.
I was broke, so of course I said yes. Little did I know within that same semester I would be offered a position to become Co-Editor-in-Chief.
Through switching my concentration and balancing multiple jobs, I somehow managed to be a part of the team that won 21 awards at the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association!
I am so appreciative of the guidance from my professors and academic advisor Taylor Goodspeed.
Without them I would have walked out during the pagination of The Welcome Guide during the summer. I believe this is where people would put “iykyk.”
For my Bella and CJ, I know you both will do great things within The Javelina Media Experience; please promise that you will not break any limbs in the process.
CJ, I am talking about you.
I am glad I was able to take part in the growth of our social media following and program as a whole.
Shoutout to the ghost of Manning Hall for keeping me company through all hours of the night, and Ronni for answering my FaceTime calls after InDesign would crash on me.
For everyone I have interviewed, thank you for sharing your stories with me. It was a pleasure.
Most importantly thank you to everyone within the walls of Room 165 in Manning Hall for being patient with me, and giving the girl that was mesmerized by a big waterslide a chance.
