Fall releases cooler than Kingsville autumn weather

Entertainment industry thrives, finishing out 2025

Whether we’re welcoming you back after a much-needed summer break, or meeting you for the first time, it’s safe to say that this fall season will have you clearing your weekends to hit the theaters and making new playlists to listen to while studying. So, grab your pumpkin spice and light cardigans because autumn is here and with it comes some exciting releases.

Starting strong with the most anticipated movie releases this fall, “Wicked: For Good” will be concluding the second half of the famous Broadway musical on Nov. 21, defying gravity and box office numbers. Call up your friends and start making plans to go see “Black Phone 2” on Oct. 17, just in time for this Halloween season. Eight years after the first movie, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are back and chasing crime in “Zootopia 2” on Nov. 26. Wind that music box and grab your flashlights because “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” hits theaters Dec. 5, reuniting icons Matthew Lillard and Skeet Ulrich. James Cameron takes us back to Pandora in “Avatar: Fire and Ash” Dec. 19. Fifteen years after Tron: Legacy, “Tron: Ares” is hitting theaters Oct. 10 with a soundtrack entirely created by Nine Inch Nails.

Along with big franchise movies, there’s a lot of eccentric stories to get excited for. A24, known for its unique storylines and characters, is dropping a movie titled “Eternity” on Nov. 26. Starring Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller and Callum Turner, the main character, Joan, must decide which love of her life to spend the rest of eternity with in the after-life. I can feel tears coming on already. “Good Boy” is a unique film from a dog’s perspective watching their owner experience a supernatural entity in their home set to release on Oct. 3. A musical biopic about the life of Bruce Springsteen, starring Jeremy Allen White, is set to hit theaters Oct. 24. Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein” is coming to Netflix on Nov.7, starring Oscar Isaac.

This autumn season definitely has a lot in store music wise. After her award-winning album scored huge last year, Sabrina Carpenter is kicking off the fall music scene with her new album “Man’s Best Friend” out Aug. 29. One of our many favorite red heads, Ed Sheeran, is back with his eighth studio album titled “Play” on Sept. 12. After a few years of making hit singles, Cardi B is back and dropping her album “Am I the Drama?” on Sept. 19. On Sept. 26, Doja Cat is releasing her album titled “Vie” and Mariah Carey is dropping her’s titled “Here For It All.” Then, Taylor Swift surprised us announcing her 12th studio album on a random August Monday, which was not on any of our 2025 bingo cards. Her new era, “The Life of a Showgirl,” is set to drop Oct. 3. Finally, All Time Low is bound to get people talking with their next album “Everyone’s Talking,” which is set to release on Oct.17.

It’s important to take care of yourself during a busy fall semester and that means taking breaks when you can. From witches to showgirls, this fall season is packed with enough entertainment to keep you motivated and occupied while keeping up with your studies.
