Texas A&M University-Kingsville football has begun its quest for a national title with new Head Coach Scott Parr and new quarterback Jack Turner on Saturday Sept. 6 with a win over Lincoln University.
The game started off with what seemed to be first game jitters when two Javelinas coughed up the football.

But after that it was all business for the Javelinas who wound up scoring 60 points.
The scoring got kicked off with an Andre Branch 3-yard rushing touchdown to put the Javelinas ahead.
Turner would get off to an electric start to the season by throwing for 278 yards in the first half.
That success would seemingly end Turners night because of the Javelinas domination.
Turners 278 yards garnered three Javelina wide receivers CJ Thompson, Ivan Thomas and King Phillips over 70 plus yards.
Passing wasn’t the only way the Javelinas dominated however, running backs Andre Branch and James Chumley, both rushed for over 50 yards and scored a touchdown each.
The defense would also be a key to success in the win over Lincoln by only allowing 12 points which were given up in the second half when the Javelinas were already on cruise control.
This defensive showcase saw two Javelinas add interceptions to their resumes, along with 4 other Javelinas have tackle for losses.
Another key point was that almost 34 Javelinas defensive players were accredited with tackles showing the continued success of returning Defensive Coordinator Jamison Bisch.
This simple yet dominating show of the Javelinas possibly sets the tone for the Javelinas season and their first road game this weekend Sept. 13 against Northwest Missouri.
