{"id":10321,"date":"2024-04-01T23:10:54","date_gmt":"2024-04-01T23:10:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/?p=10321"},"modified":"2024-04-01T23:12:01","modified_gmt":"2024-04-01T23:12:01","slug":"javelina-nation-jams-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/index.php\/2024\/04\/01\/javelina-nation-jams-out\/","title":{"rendered":"Javelina Nation jams out"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Screamin&#8217; Javelina debuts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Texas A&amp;M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) recently hosted its first Screamin\u2019 Javelina music festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All students, alumni and members of the community were encouraged to come out and listen to the lineup of artists that performed throughout the day and night on March 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each artist brought in their own genre from country and rock to rap and a variety of Spanish music.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These artists felt happy and honored to be a part of what could potentially be the first of many more music festivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBeing the one to kickstart this festival was awesome, and I am so blessed to be able to do this and I just thank God every day for getting the opportunity to do this,\u201d Country artist Ethan Edghill said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the sun began to set and the afternoon heat turned into cool evening air, every artist played as best as they possibly could for the crowd\u2019s enjoyment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TAMUK students showed their support by crowding the stage and sang and danced along with the music that was being performed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI got excited to come and this has been amazing my favorite band to perform was Roam with Lions,\u201d junior Maynard Carbajal said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Screamin\u2019 Javelina was a success in the eyes of the students who loved the music that was showcased at the festival and would love to come back to more in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI love going to concerts and stuff so when I heard that this was going to happen it was right up my alley and I was very excited to come out here,\u201d junior Aaron Carbajal said. \u201cAll the rock and punk bands were the highlight. They were more my style and I got to talk to a lot of them when they finished; they were amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the heat and a few technical difficulties early on, Screamin\u2019 Javelina was a success and has won the hearts of many concert and festival loving members of the community and TAMUK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To conclude the night an announcement was made that Screamin\u2019 Javelina will return next year with the possibility of making it a longer event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This festival gave a lot of those in attendance amazing memories, and many cannot wait for the next one as this could be a new tradition for TAMUK.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Screamin&#8217; Javelina debuts Texas A&amp;M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) recently hosted its first Screamin\u2019 Javelina music festival.
