{"id":10819,"date":"2024-10-21T18:51:15","date_gmt":"2024-10-21T18:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/?p=10819"},"modified":"2024-10-21T18:52:24","modified_gmt":"2024-10-21T18:52:24","slug":"raising-awareness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/index.php\/2024\/10\/21\/raising-awareness\/","title":{"rendered":"Raising\u00a0awareness"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ASA hosts event for breast cancer<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">For the past 24 years, Alpha Sigma Alpha (ASA) sorority, in collaboration with Student Health and Wellness, has organized the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk\/Run at Texas A&amp;M University-Kingsville.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This year, Vice President of Communications of ASA, Jordan Davis was able to arrange this event for the first time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cWe support our local philanthropies because we participate with our nationals, but we adopt our locals and try and focus on them,\u201d Davis said. \u201cWe started this event in the 2000s, and are trying to get it to the milestone of 25, we have been doing good and this one was our biggest one yet.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Some individuals join to raise awareness and enhance the community, while others are driven by personal connections to breast cancer, inspiring their participation and motivating others to get involved as well.
