{"id":1086,"date":"2018-10-19T01:02:54","date_gmt":"2018-10-19T01:02:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/?p=1086"},"modified":"2018-10-19T18:07:38","modified_gmt":"2018-10-19T18:07:38","slug":"food-and-fun-at-2018-tamuk-fall-carnival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/index.php\/2018\/10\/19\/food-and-fun-at-2018-tamuk-fall-carnival\/","title":{"rendered":"Food and fun at 2018 TAMUK Fall Carnival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">A night filled with music, food and fun awaits at Texas A&amp;M University-Kingsville\u2019s (TAMUK) Fall Carnival.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The entire community is invited to celebrate from 5 to 10 p.m. on Oct. 24 at one of TAMUK\u2019s favorite homecoming traditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThe best part of the Fall Carnival is that there is so many different foods and snacks to choose from, and it\u2019s just so nice to see the entire community be involved and show their support on campus,\u201d pre-vet student Elizabeth Rodriguez said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Fall Carnival is an annual event that offers student organizations an opportunity to fundraise. Organizations will sell food and other goods to raise money for the needs of their organizations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Some organizations will even have games and prizes for the community to enjoy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cAlthough it is all fun and games, the Fall Carnival has a lot of work put into it. The strategic planning, deciding what to sell, whose working what shifts\u2026it may all become chaotic. However, it is wonderful to see everything come together and everyone enjoying the night,\u201d said Josue Serna, an information system student.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">While the carnival allows for organizations to raise money, it also is a night for students to learn about clubs on campus, enjoy snacks and have fun as they celebrate homecoming during a TAMUK tradition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThe Fall Carnival is one of my favorite traditions, everyone comes out and is ready for a great time. It\u2019s a great way to spend time with friends and family.
