Texas A&M University-Kingsville hosted a Zombie Laser Tag event that was held in the Memorial Student Union Building\u2019s ballroom on Oct. 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Campus Activities Board decided to take on a new approach to their previous Haunted House event and spice things up with a new spooky event.Campus Activities Board member Alexandra Aguirre mentioned many students coming to participate came alone or in small groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese events are so good. You don\u2019t even have to come with friends, you can make friends here. It gets your mind off studying, gets your mind off of school, and you get to have some fun,\u201d Aguirre said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students were given the chance to battle in two teams of eight players and laser the opposing team while avoiding zombies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is a really fun de-stresser because it lets everyone not take themselves too seriously and just have fun. I know it\u2019s hard whenever you get to college and you have all that stress put on you. This is a good way to destress during the mid-term season,\u201d Leslie Flores, zombie actor, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While at the event, other students commented on how they hope for next year\u2019s event to be a combination of both a haunted house and laser tag. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alongside this, students also said that events around campus make them feel connected to all the other people around them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even when they study different majors and live different educational lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI say go for any experience you can take, just get really involved. It\u2019s so worth it. Especially this Zombie Laser Tag. It\u2019s in the hot week of Halloween, so it really gets you in the mood and the vibe of Halloween, like really ready to embrace it and the university life,\u201d freshman Hallie Valdez said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
