The movie stars Jack Quaid as Josh, and his android girlfriend Iris who is played by actress Sophie Thatcher. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Co-stars Harvey Guill\u00e9n and Lukas Gage also gave outstanding performances in their supporting roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was a little skeptical about this movie at first due to the abundance of A.I. and android based films that have been releasing lately. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To my surprise the plot of \u2018Companion\u2019, along with its gripping blend of dark comedy, was enough to keep me hooked through the whole film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The movie began with Sophie Thatcher\u2019s character Iris recalling when she first met and fell in love with her boyfriend Josh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The couple go and meet up with some friends at a very expensive lake cabin for what was supposed to be a relaxing getaway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the moment Iris was introduced to the friends I could tell something was off with the vibes in the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The weekend retreat turned into a nightmare when one of the group member\u2019s gets murdered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I loved how the film kept delivering tiny reveals of background information that kept getting more shocking after another. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Companion\u2019 seemed like an intense sci-fi murder mystery but would keep reminding the viewer that there was a deeply rooted love story between its main characters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This film did more than just revolve around the ethical and philosophical issues surrounding human and android relationships. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Companion\u2019 was intriguing while even touching on some domestic violence relationship issues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
