However, women are not the only ones who may get affected, breast cancer may also be detected in a small of percentage of the male population. Therefore, it is crucial for all our students to get exposed and informed to all of this information because it\u2019s never to soon to be cautious about your heath,\u201d said Jo Elda Castillo-Alaniz, health and wellness director.<\/p>\n
Attaining different information\u00a0 <\/span>and simply getting exposed to different statistics may improve your health immensely.<\/p>\n Therefore, Texas A&M University-Kingsville will be hosting its 18th annual breast cancer awareness walk\/run Saturday, Oct. 27, sponsored by the Student Health and Wellness and Alpha Sigma Alpha.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s important to get informed about this type of information, because as young people, we don\u2019t really think breast cancer is something to worry about. We think \u2018I\u2019ll worry about it when I\u2019m older\u2019 but the reality is cancer doesn\u2019t care about age, it may attack anyone. Getting informed is the best thing you can do,\u201d said Nancy Robles, pre-dental major.<\/p>\n Students will get the opportunity to honor and remember their loved ones by advocating for breast cancer awareness.<\/p>\n The three mile walk\/run will begin in the front courtyard of the Memorial Student Union Building at 9 a.m. On-site registration will begin between 8:15 a.m. and 8:40 a.m.<\/p>\n No fee will be charged to participate in the breast cancer awareness walk but donations will be accepted to support The Susan G. Komen foundation.<\/p>\n The Susan G. Komen Foundation\u2019s goal is to significantly reduce the amount of deaths and help find a cure\u00a0 <\/span>and educate others about this chronic disease.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m excited to participate in the 5k breast cancer awareness walk\/run because my mom is a breast cancer survivor.
