The moment felt as if the Easter egg\u2013laced vinyl variants and the overall hype surrounding Swift\u2019s new album, The Last Showgirl\u2014set to debut Oct. 4\u2014were not enough. Now, a new countdown is upon us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s been said that in America, we don\u2019t have royalty\u2014we have celebrity. This news of the \u201cengagement era\u201d solidifies that point. Whether you are a Swiftie or not, the magnitude of this news is hard to escape. So much so, the news of the engagement even solicited a positive message from President Trump, no doubt a rarity considering his notorious opinion about Swift. \u201cI think he\u2019s a great player, I think he\u2019s a great guy.
