At Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) faculty and staff work day in and day out making sure every student is being taken care of. From the financial aid office to the maintenance workers, all members pitch in to make our university the best it can possibly be. The athletic department is no exception to that. There is someone\u2019s hard work that goes unnoticed.<\/p>\n
David Brock is TAMUK\u2019s operations and events coordinator\/Track and Field home meet director. Brock\u2019s job duties include handling the men\u2019s and women\u2019s baseball, softball, volleyball, and football events. Brock also handles the incoming recruits\u2019 reservations.<\/p>\n
He is serving a major role in the planning committee for the Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s 2019-2020 National Collegiate Athletic Association\u2019s National Track & Field Championship that will be hosted at the Javelina Stadium.<\/p>\n
\u201c[Brock is] committed to his work, dedicated and takes great pride in his efforts. Without question he is definitely what you\u2019d call a total team player within the athletic department,\u201d said Joe Biedron, the associate athletic director for corporate sponsorship.<\/p>\n
Biedron has worked alongside Brock for about nine years and describes Brock as having an exceptional work ethic.<\/p>\n
\u201c[He is] an unsung hero that I feel privileged to work with,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Students appreciate the work Brock does and sees it as a positive for the university.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll the hard work he does brings in a lot of money,\u201d sports business major, Joseph Alleman said. DOUBLE CHECK SPELLING. ALEMAN TYPICALLY HAS ONLY 1 L<\/p>\n
Alleman worked under Brock for a semester for an apprenticeship.<\/p>\n
Brock cherishes the university and how he contributes to its betterment.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh, I love it, been here 10 years. When I go to work every day it\u2019s something, something that I enjoy not just the athletics but the people, the people that make up this university,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Brock is comfortable here and plans to continue assisting the athletic department for years to come.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo long as my health holds out and as long as the athletic department will have me here. I plan on staying here for a long time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Next time you\u2019re at a sporting event, know that a lot of work goes behind the scenes and Brock is one of the people that make it a great experience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
