{"id":2324,"date":"2019-04-11T08:15:36","date_gmt":"2019-04-11T08:15:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/?p=2324"},"modified":"2019-04-17T02:19:39","modified_gmt":"2019-04-17T02:19:39","slug":"5th-anniversary-celebration-at-newman-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/index.php\/2019\/04\/11\/5th-anniversary-celebration-at-newman-hall\/","title":{"rendered":"5th Anniversary Celebration at Newman Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Newman Hall, alongside its chapel, celebrated its five-year anniversary being open and a part of Texas A&amp;M University &#8211; Kingsville on April 8, by holding a Spring Carnival in the field outside of the establishment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Newman prides itself on camaraderie during the Spring Carnival and created an inviting and friendly environment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s all about family, it\u2019s all about a home-away-from home, being somewhere safe where you can practice your faith, get your homework done, and just enjoy yourself amongst your peers,\u201d said General Manager of Newman Hall Alexandria Brooks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wanting to honor half a decade of family, the Spring Carnival had many booths and activities scattered around the grass area for the community to enjoy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe just want to make our presence and let people know that we have events like this,\u201d said Assistant General Manager of Newman Hall Vanessa Valdez.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The area was riddled with free goodies such as nachos or snow-cones, as well as activities such as free face painting and a photo booth.
