{"id":3110,"date":"2019-11-06T17:00:20","date_gmt":"2019-11-06T17:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/?p=3110"},"modified":"2019-11-06T20:57:06","modified_gmt":"2019-11-06T20:57:06","slug":"business-college-hosts-annual-economic-forum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/index.php\/2019\/11\/06\/business-college-hosts-annual-economic-forum\/","title":{"rendered":"Business college hosts annual economic forum"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The College of Business\nAdministration hosted its ninth annual economic forum which focuses on a study\nof the economic conditions in Kleberg, McCulloch and Zapata counties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was held from 11:30 a.m. to\n1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the Grand Ballrooms of the Student Memorial\nBuilding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These three Texas counties all\nhave a similar oil well count. The host for this year was Christi Craddick with\nthe Railroad Commission of Texas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRoads are important, pipelines\nare important and rails are important,\u201d Craddick said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Citizens drive on these roads\nand marketing the ports are going to increase infrastructure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Thomas Krueger with the\nCollege of Business Administration presented three primary components which\nincluded demographic aspects, economic conditions and the economic survey. Each\ncomponent was introduced in question and answer format with five main\nquestions. The first component, the demographic aspect, determines the county\u2019s\npopulations, age distributions, ethnicities, education levels and housing\nstatistics. The second component, the economic conditions, studied the county\u2019s\ncost of living, the poverty wage and minimum wage. The final component includes\npersonnel, Kleberg County and United States\u2019 economic health over the coming\nyear.
