A theme that aimed to, \u201c\u2026celebrate education and teamwork within\nthe community,\u201d according to the <em>Kingsville\nRecord<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" src=\"http:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1799.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3395\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1799.jpg 960w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1799-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1799-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1799-350x263.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Featuring dozens of parade floats, the parade\nof lights includes floats from local high schools, businesses and various other\norganizations. In addition, several groups affiliated with TAMUK participated\nin the parade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Owners of the downtown boutique La Potpourri, Amanda\nSible and Pam Webb, have been tabling for the La Posada de Kingsville parade\nsince 1992. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s nice that it gets bigger every year.\nThey\u2019ve had to expand down the street,\u201d said Webb. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Surrounded by thousands of lights and hundreds of people Sible expressed her appreciation for the large community turn-out, \u201cCommunity [is my favorite part]. How much of the community comes down here.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" src=\"http:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1797.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3393\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1797.jpg 960w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1797-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1797-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1797-350x263.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the La Posada de Kingsville\nfestival <em>Facebook<\/em> page, the winners\nof the 2019 parade float contest included Ricardo ISD for \u201cBest use of Theme\u201d,\nBray\u2019s Smokehouse for \u201cBest Business\u201d and the city of Freer for \u201cBest use of\nLights\u201d categories among several other winners.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In addition, La Posada\nde Kingsville included other holiday themed activities in the downtown area\nthat took place during the morning and afternoon leading up to the parade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u201cThe Festival of Lights\n(10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) will feature pony rides, food and Christmas-themed goodies\navailable from a variety of arts &amp; crafts vendors. Visitors will also have\nan opportunity to visit downtown stores and restaurants,\u201d as stated by <em>KRIS 6 News<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" src=\"http:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1798.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3396\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1798.jpg 960w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1798-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1798-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_1798-350x263.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Children also had the opportunity to meet and\ntake pictures with Santa during the annual Children\u2019s Snow Day.
