{"id":3450,"date":"2020-02-05T22:05:00","date_gmt":"2020-02-05T22:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/?p=3450"},"modified":"2020-02-04T22:06:33","modified_gmt":"2020-02-04T22:06:33","slug":"explore-your-inner-child-with-whos-afraid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/index.php\/2020\/02\/05\/explore-your-inner-child-with-whos-afraid\/","title":{"rendered":"Explore your inner child with Who\u2019s Afraid\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Catch a front row seat to see how Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks break into the home of The Three Little Pigs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cast of <em>Who\u2019s Afraid of Little Red Riding Hood?<\/em> invites everyone to find their inner child and enjoy a mash-up of fairytales at 3 p.m., Feb. 2 and 7:30 p.m., Feb 3 and 4 in Jones Auditorium.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The comical children\u2019s play is an original work of Associate Professor Dr. Patrick Faherty.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cast members enjoy the challenge of original works because it allows them to be as creative and spontaneous with their characters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBringing someone else\u2019s story to life is always a challenge but even more so when that person\u2019s vision is a professor you look up to. It\u2019s also a challenge keeping up the fast-paced energy to keep the children entertained\u2026it\u2019s a fun play and it makes you feel like a child again. It\u2019s funny and ridiculous,\u201d Director of <em>Who\u2019s Afraid of Little Red Riding Hood?<\/em> Devyn Hamblin said.\t<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;The annual children\u2019s play invites the community to come see&nbsp; the opportunities and creativity the&nbsp; TAMUK\u2019s Theater program has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cIt\u2019s my bigger role here at TAMUK and I love having the opportunity of being on stage and really getting to play around with my character. It\u2019s a very exaggerated show and we all get to be as big and crazy as we want to be,\u201d Caroline Dietz, who is portraying Goldilocks, said.\t<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the play is intended to be charming it also sends out an important message to its audience.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The play encourages the audience to take the time to understand situations before jumping to conclusions and to not let their emotions get the best of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI just love everything about performing &#8211; making the children laugh and telling a story.
