{"id":4216,"date":"2020-09-02T16:55:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-02T16:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/?p=4216"},"modified":"2020-09-02T23:21:01","modified_gmt":"2020-09-02T23:21:01","slug":"roller-skates-masks-at-first-in-person-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/index.php\/2020\/09\/02\/roller-skates-masks-at-first-in-person-event\/","title":{"rendered":"Roller skates, masks at first in-person event"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Students lined up with masks and socks, strapped on their skates, danced and often times fell to the music as the Campus Activities Board hosted their first major event of the semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Wed. Aug. 26, the CAB hosted a Roller Derby event in the MSUB Ballrooms for students to show off their roller-skating skills, have a snack and enjoy being back on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRoller Derby was actually an event that we had planned for a while,\u201d President of CAB Lizzetty Lara said. \u201cWe\u2019ve done this event before in the past, so we\u2019ve already had experience with running this kind of event I think it was about two years ago\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt the beginning of each semester we like to host a bigger evening event,\u201d Lara continjued. \u201cLast semester we held the Glowcade event; the semester before we held the foam party so this semester was roller derby.
