I enjoyed it a lot and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season,” Servin said.

The next series was against Arkansas-Fort Smith at Nolan Ryan Field where the Javelinas started off with a good team win on Friday, picking up a 7-1 victory with a great performance from Kolby Lunsford.

The next day started with a 13-1 loss to the Lions, but game three went to the Javelinas in a pitching duel through the first five innings as neither side made head- way on the bases.

Pitcher Logan Garza sat down six of the seven leadoff batters he faced on the day and had multiple strikeouts in five of his seven innings of work.

“Honestly though going into the game I knew I had to throw a lot of strikes,” Garza said. “Our coaches were stressing getting ahead of guys, and I just wanted to give our team a chance to win. My catcher Caleb Nash called a great game and my pitching coach, Coach Flores, gave us a great game plan. The guys made a lot of plays behind me. We had Austin DeLeon catch a deep fly ball that I thought was going to fall for a hit and Giancarlo Servin caught a tough pop up behind the mound late in the game. There are more plays I could go on about, but I know what this team can do when we’re all on. I just knew it was a matter of time before our offense went off and I was confident our team would make plays behind me. I’m just glad I could do my parton the mound.”

The series win marksthe second series won by the team.
