For those who want to shed a tear because they never had their chance at young love or still find themselves alone, Heartstopper<\/em> is the perfect series for you.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n This series hits close to home for many in the LGBTQ+ community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It shows what it is like to be alone in school, to never feel like you are enough and what it is like to get bullied for your sexuality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n People in the LGBTQ+ community face so many challenges growing up, one thing that gets overlooked is how lonely it can be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Netflix brought those feelings to the surface with the story they told.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We get to see the story of a young boy, Charlie, navigating love in a school where he is the only person who is gay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We eventually get to see him become best friends with the school\u2019s star rugby player, Nick. They become close and start to spend every day with each other. <\/p>\n\n\n\n After a few episodes we start to see Nick discover his sexuality and see him breakdown over the realization that he is gay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n These very moments in a queer person\u2019s life are fundamental to who that person grows up to be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Getting to see someone go through the panic of realizing they\u2019re gay is all too relatable to those in the LGBTQ+ community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Through these moments you can\u2019t help but think about how your life would change and the relationships you might lose because being gay is something people don\u2019t agree with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What really brought tears to my eyes was seeing all the things that many of us who are queer, couldn\u2019t have growing up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n So many of us go without experiencing love at an early age, the support of friends who also identify as LGBTQ+, or even just getting the opportunity to come out and be our authentic selves at a youthful age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This series presents a diverse cast and list of characters. There are people from a wide variety of races, ethnicities, sexualities, and even viewers get to see the life of a transgender girl. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s nice to see that big companies like Netflix are starting to show more recognition to their audience and bring more representation to the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Overall, this show has been one of the best ones I have seen this year.
