The Student Engagement & Campus Life organization sponsored a talent showcase open to students to give them an opportunity to perform in front of their peers. While there were only four performances it still became a night full of talent and about 50 students attended to support their friends and peers who performed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anna Vela and Elizabeth Abete ultimately won first place in the contest with their dance routine to Pitbulls\u2019 Time of Our Lives<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The two recently attended a Pitbull concert which inspired their performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt was definitely a last-minute thing,\u201d Abete said, but both agreed they would perform in another talent show in the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n As in any talent show, there was a judges panel that consisted of 2021 Homecoming Queen Amberly Zaragoza, Miss TAMUK 2022 Jacqueline McClendon and 2021 Homecoming King Trenton Payne. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Payne expressed that Student Engagement had reached out to them earlier in the year in hopes to have more students involved in the talent show. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI haven\u2019t judged anything before so the hardest part was having to pick between the different talents,\u201d Payne said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Another highlight of the evening was the talent show\u2019s MC, Morgan Jay.
