The flavors advertised are Mango Dragon Fruit, Strawberry Acai and Pineapple Passionfruit. Customers can recall the initial launch of the traditional flavors back in 2012. Starbucks has revamped its menu by reintroducing them as frozen blended drinks which sparked excitement across media platforms.

After seeing the drinks advertised on posters, I knew I had to give them all a try and they definitely keep you refreshed and help with the beating sun. The Pineapple Passionfruit was delicious, having the sweet flavors mixed in with the lemonade made it a bit sour by the end of my drink. It’s definitely something worth trying for the overload of sweetness it possesses. It is perfect for a hot day.

The next day I tried the strawberry acai frozen lemonade and was disappointed; my expectations for the diversity in flavor were much higher than was presented. It tasted similar to the original refresher and wasn’t that impressive; however, there was a lot of sweetness in it which was enjoyable. It was an acceptable drink but not something I would order again if I had the option. It really depends on your taste preferences. Some people may not enjoy the tartness of the acai berry or the sweetness of the strawberry.

Lastly, I tried the mango dragon fruit frozen lemonade and this one was my personal favorite. The lemonade clicked really nicely with the mango and dragon fruit. It’s a sweet and tangy drink with a tropical flavor. All the flavors mixed really nicely with each other. As a consumer that spent an average of $6 per drink I would only go back and repurchase one out of the three drinks, that would be the mango dragon fruit.

Overall, the new frozen drinks are good, all three drinks offer a variety of options and amount to different scales of sweet and sour. If you are looking for a new frozen drink to beat the heat you can visit Miss Cathy at our local Starbucks on campus at the Student Union Memorial Building.

Starbucks releases new drinks for the summer Starbucks recently released its new frozen lemonade refreshers for the summer.
