{"id":9382,"date":"2023-10-09T19:15:05","date_gmt":"2023-10-09T19:15:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/?p=9382"},"modified":"2023-10-09T19:16:10","modified_gmt":"2023-10-09T19:16:10","slug":"the-celebration-continues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/index.php\/2023\/10\/09\/the-celebration-continues\/","title":{"rendered":"The celebration continues"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TAMUK hosts Latin Composers Concert<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Texas A&amp;M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) School of Music recently hosted a Latin composer\u2019s recital, put on by faculty and staff to highlight Hispanic Heritage Month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event featured many students and faculty performing several pieces of music from Hispanic and Latin artists all over the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students that performed in the recital went through different auditions and practices to earn their spot, and many were excited to show the public all they had to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c I\u2019ll be performing Fantasia by Peredo. He is a Peruvian flutist and composer\u2026I\u2019m really excited, it\u2019s going to be fun,\u201d Kristen Williams, flutist performer said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/1000008461-1024x473.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9387\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/1000008461-1024x473.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/1000008461-300x139.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/1000008461-768x355.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/1000008461-1536x710.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/1000008461-12x6.jpg 12w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/1000008461-24x11.jpg 24w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/1000008461-36x17.jpg 36w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/1000008461-350x162.jpg 350w, https:\/\/thesouthtexan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/1000008461.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Williams described Peredo\u2019s music as contemporary and influenced Peruvian traditions.
