As students start wrapping up the fall 2023 semester, spring 2024 registration has begun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Advisers and students worked together to prepare for next semester and continue the path towards graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Harley Naranjo, a freshman Animal Science major, is one of the many students who have already registered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA lot of my classes for my major fill up fast, so I wanted to make sure I got registered in time,\u201d Naranjo said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several different registration events have been held on campus, in which students had the opportunity to meet with advisors, see what classes are offered and, of course, register. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many of these events saw lots of students in attendance. For advisers like Reagan Morreale who advises freshman students in the College of Education and Human Performance, this was crucial for her students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAround 100 of my students have already registered for spring. We had multiple different advising\/registration events with all good turnouts,\u201d Morreale said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She also stressed the importance of registering early. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMany classes fill up very fast. You risk losing your spot in a class that you need and some courses are only offered once a year or even once every two years. Missing out could impact your graduation timeline,\u201d Morreale said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With so many courses being offered, several professors also recognize the need for students to register. Shannon Aguilar, a nutrition professor in the Biology and Health Sciences Department, has already had several students reach out to her for registration advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s important for students to register on time because this gives students involved in other activities time to plan accordingly,\u201d Aguilar said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students seeking help with registration are encouraged to contact their academic adviser. The deadline to avoid late registration fees is Jan. 2, 2024.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
