Whataburger presents Javelina Athletics app

Now available for IPhone and Android users.

Texas A&M Kingsville’s Athletics has partnered with Whataburger to provide fans, alumni and supporters with a service that simplifies ways to stay updated with their favorite Javelina Athletics teams – a new app.
Whataburger Director of Operations Joe Lukefahr says the company is a long-time supporter of TAMUK athletics.

“Whataburger has been a long-time sup- porter of the Texas A&M – Kingsville athletics pro- gram, and now it’s going to be easier than ever for us to keep up with the Javelinas and get updates on scores and highlights,” he said. Users are able to opt-in for game day notifications to follow start times, score updates, and end-game recaps.

“I am always excited for new ways to advertise and promote our teams. Many people in the community often do not know about our teams’ competitions and events. An app seems like a great way for people to easily find information and details. I think that makes it incredibly beneficial for all,” Tanya Allen, head volleyball coach, said.

Other features include live game streaming, assistance with purchasing tickets, and an onlinestore for Javelina gear. The Javelina football team’s starting running back Amonte Bowen says the app is needed during this time.

“I am excited for this app to be available to my friends and family, it definitely would have been appreciated a few years ago as well, but I am glad that our future program has been given this opportunity to showcase their hard work and reach the community,” Bowen said. “An app is especially crucial while dealing with this ongoing pandemic; we can simplify game coverage and still feel connected to our fans even though we cannot physically see them.”

Social media streams are available for integration through the app to view team feeds from Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. The official app is free and can be located in the App Store or Google Play by searching “Javelina Athletics.”

The Javelina Athletics Official Mobile app is powered by SIDEARM Sports, which currently services upwards of 300 NCAA Division I pro-grams.
