Rumors: to believe or not believe

So, the rumor has it I……

It’s true, word of mouth travels fast in a small town. But is it all true?

For instance, a shadow of the truth started from your, one and only, potential crush saying you “have a boyfriend” (that’s not him.)

Weird right? Because what is the point of stirring the pot, I would assume it would make sense to go to the source first.

But this seems to happen a lot in today’s world. But how could it, why does everything get so mixed up?

Well, we can’t forget everyone loves to gossip. No matter the age or gender everyone has some sort of tea to spill.

But why? If it’s not affecting them, then what does it matter? Do people find pleasure in spreading rumors, does it make them feel like a better person? When should the line be drawn?

Well sorry to tell you buddy but I don’t have the answer to that, we would have to ask them ourselves.

But me on the other hand I don’t see what good can come out of it all. What comes to mind is the way I would feel being on the receiving end of dumb little rumors.

But in all honesty what does it matter? They’re just rumors and they’re not true (unless they are). But why do we let it affect us so much?

Probably because it always seems to be the person closest to us to spread or ask about rumors. Maybe the problem here is backstabbing friends. Or maybe the problem is some people just have too much audacity in them. Let’s be real we all know someone like that.

But either way people are going to continue to spread rumors. It’s up to you on how you deal with it.
