Little arrested on alleged possession of marijuana, controlled substance

A Texas A&M University-Kingsville Men’s Basketball player was arrested by the Kingsville Police Department on Wednesday morning.

Freshman forward Zyon Little was arrested Wednesday morning on one count of alleged possession of marijuana and one count of alleged possession of a controlled substance.

Little was released Wednesday afternoon with his bail set at $6,500, according to jail records available online.

Assistant Director of Athletic Communication Andrew Quintana was contacted for comment, and he referred The South Texan to the university’s Office of Marketing and Communications.

Director of Marketing and Communications Adrianna Garza provided a comment on the situation.

“Texas A&M-Kingsville is aware of a situation involving a men’s basketball team member Wednesday morning. The student-athlete, coach, and the Executive Director of Athletics will address the situation. Both the NCAA and Javelina Athletics have randomized drug testing programs,” Garza said.

This is a developing story.
