Review: Fallout tops the charts ‘rad’-away

A journey through the wasteland

The post-apocalyptic and immersive world of “Fallout” has finally made its way into the streaming world, after holding a powerful presence in the gaming space for the past couple of decades.

The ever-expanding video game series “Fallout” was first released in 1997 as a role-playing game (RPG) and is often regarded as one of the best games of all time in its respected genre. The developers of “Fallout” would go on to create another game in the series before selling the creative rights to the widely popular Bethesda Softworks, known for its overwhelming presence in the RPG world.

Bethesda Softworks would go on to develop and publish “Fallout 3” which became a quick hit, establishing the series as a titan in the gaming industry. Fans wanted more, and Bethesda delivered, when they decided to partner with Prime Video to create a television series based on the franchise.

Initially, fans had their doubts on how the showrunners would captivate Fallout’s intricate world. However, all doubt was manifested into certainty when the show released on April 10 and took not only fans, but critics for a thrilling adventure.

Unexpectedly topping the view charts with 5 million views and an impressive 2.5 billion minutes watched.

The talent behind the show managed to re-envision the world of “Fallout” creating their own unique original story all while maintaining faithfulness to the series lore.

The overall feeling of the show is very reminiscent of the video games consisting of blending action, intrigue and dark humor with its bold storytelling and rich world-building.

The characters are compelling and well-written, revitalized by the acting performances starring Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins.

Production qualities such as cinematography, set design and practical effects are also impressive with seasoned talent; including Johnathan Nolan and Lisa Joy who were brought on to produce the show.

“Fallout” (TV series) has already been renewed for a season 2 not even within a month’s release following its massive success and has all eight episodes available on Amazon Prime Video for viewers to experience.
