KINGSVILLE, Texas – Coach Tanya Allen announced on Monday the addition of three new signees to the 2020 signing class for the Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball program.
The three new faces are middle blocker Allison Stachowiak, defensive specialist Madison Thoreson and setter Emily Witt.
Allison Stachowiak – Brownsville, Texas – St. Joseph Academy – Middle Blocker – @allystaq2
Stachowiak put together a career at St. Joseph Academy that included earning a spot on the all-district first-team in both 2018 and 2019. She was also a member of the district’s all-academic first-team, picked up all-state honorable mention status and was a team captain during her time with the Bloodhounds. In addition to her exploits on the volleyball court, Stachowiak was a second-team all-district pick in basketball. The daughter of Monique Carre and Terry Stachowiak, Allison will be studying Biomedical Science during her time in Kingsville.
Madison Thoreson – Belton, Texas – McNeese State – Libero/Defensive Specialist – @mlthoreson
Thoreson brings with her a wealth of experience on the club circuit, where she spent time with Texas Fury, Euroway and Austin Performance, as well as Austin Juniors in beach volleyball. Her accomplishments in club volleyball include third-place finish at the Red Rock Rave and a fifth-place showing at the Colorado Crossroads while she was with Austin Performance 17. The daughter of Linda and Derek Thoreson, Madison intends to major in Performance Psychology.
Emily Witt – Rose Hill, Kan. – Navarro College – Setter – @ewitt3721
Witt comes to Kingsville after spending her sophomore year as a member of one of the most dominant teams in college volleyball. In 2019, she helped lead the Navarro College Bulldogs to an undefeated season and an NJCAA National Championship. For her part, Witt contributed one of the best assist rates in the nation at 11.13, which was fifth-best in the country. These efforts led to her being named MVP of the Region XIV Tournament and garnering a spot on the 2019 All-National Tournament team. Witt was also a two-time member of the All-Region XIV team, including a first-team nod in 2018, when her 1,574 assists led the nation. Her collegiate success came following a career at Rose Hill High School that included two state championships and a pair of appearances on the all-state roster. The daughter of Elaine and Mark Witt, Emily plans on majoring in Psychology at TAMUK.
Stachowiak, Thoreson and Witt join a recruiting class that already includes outside hitter Selby Draker, middle blocker Ayanna Jackson and setter Madeleine Stolzer, who signed on in the fall.
