COVID-19 testing available to TAMUK

Earlier this month we shared that free COVID-19 testing will be available at Texas A&M-Kingsville through an agreement between the Texas A&M University System and Curative Inc.

The launch of the Curative Inc. online registration website for the testing has been delayed. We will notify the campus community when testing registration becomes available.

Testing is only available to students with a valid K#, and faculty and staff with a valid University Identification Number. Faculty, staff and students from the Rangel College of Pharmacy are also eligible for testing. Testing will be prioritized as follows:

·         Individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms

·         Individuals who have been identified as a close contact of a COVID-19 positive individual

·         Those with programmatic needs (athletes, interns, etc.)

·         Groups who may have been exposed to someone with the virus

Due to limited testing resources, family members of faculty, staff, and students, alumni and third-party vendors are not eligible for on-campus testing.

Individuals are encouraged to continue to self-monitor and should get tested if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms; or if they suspect they have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, such as through close contact (close contact is defined by the CDC as being within 6 feet of a COVID-19 case for a period greater than 15 minutes at any time beginning 48 hours before the individual had symptoms, regardless of wearing a face mask.)
