Review: Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak. have done it again

An Evening with Silk Sonic is a masterpiece

My love for Bruno Mars is one that has been around for more than 10 years and will not be going away anytime soon if he keeps coming out with these bangers.

Since their release of Leave the Door Open back in March of this year, Mars and .Paak. have received a lot of attention for being this year’s hottest unforeseen duo.

With close to six million views, the two amazing singers were only understandably expected by fans to come out with yet another hit. However, they did one better.

On Nov. 12, Silk Sonic, composed of Mars and .Paak. released their debut R&B and Soul album An Evening with Silk Sonic

The album consists of nine songs for a total of 31 minutes of straight grooves and jams.

Familiar songs in the album include Leave the Door Open and Smokin Out The Window in which the duo released as singles and music videos prior to the album drop.

These two songs may be the most popular amongst fans because of their familiarity, but there are seven other songs that are just as good, maybe even better.

I was skeptical at first to listen to the album because I enjoyed their singles so much to the point where I was afraid the rest of the album would not live up to my expectations and new standards for the duo, but I was quickly proven wrong.

The first song starts off with an intro and right away the soul genre puts the listener in a feel-good mood.

Another song, Fly As Me, is one of my personal favorites. It is unlike any song I’ve ever heard, especially in 2021.

I am not saying songs today aren’t good, but songs like these put you in a different state of mind.

There is no way someone can listen to this album and feel anything but happy.

The album ends with Blast Off, which is perfectly planned to put fans into some sort of different dimension as the greatest way to end half an hour of rhythm and soul.

The best part of this album is that not a single song is the same.

Each one has its own unique style yet it comes together so perfectly.

The worst part is that it had to come to an end.

The whole world has their eyes on you, Silk Sonic, and collectively, we thank you.
