Black love needs to spread across America

Black love means strength and resilience to me. Black love should be seen as power in our community, and it is time that it begins to take over our people. The love we had for each other is what got the Black man and woman through over 200 years of unwanted discrimination, riots at our doorsteps where our children played, and through a time when we could not travel anywhere without shackles chained to our joints and a dog nearby who could catch a scent.

The struggle of the Black community has been a hard topic to discuss in America for those who weren’t involved. For centuries, White nationalists have been manipulating and denying minorities of their rights, especially Black men and women. Unfortunately for as long as we have, the struggles of Black people have been overlooked by the authority that is this country. We have fought for our own rights in this country for over two centuries. We have been all we had and all we need, and then some.

In order to fight against racism, one must recognize that less attention and fewer resources are allotted to Black communities.

During the time when our ancestors weren’t even allowed to read, they would hide and help each other out with their reading. All because someone made it wrong for the Negro to be intelligent. Then, when caught reading a book, they were seriously punished.

They showed tremendous dedication and commitment for this generation toward education. They paved a way for a future that no one 200 years ago would have foreseen. We have invented things, have names on buildings and on streets.

We have innovated many things for the betterment of this country, the Black man, and many other minorities as well.

Our children will be our future generation. We have to build a firm foundation for them to stand.
