Liar, liar, pants on fire

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and every vigorous word that comes out of their mouth is a lie? Doesn’t this just get on your nerves? Especially when you know the truth.

Well, it sure does get on my nerves, truly it is one of my biggest red flags in a person. A liar is considered someone who bends the truth and voices misleading statements. In other words, lying is when someone is not telling the truth. But is all lying bad?

In some but very few instances, is it considered okay to lie? A white lie to your significant other who just got a new haircut you do not like, but you lie and say it looks good to spare any hurt feelings is totally fine. Or a white lie to avoid conflict with your boss, or any other coworkers are okay, too.

If these lies are not putting anyone at risk and the situation you tell a white lie about is harmless, then it is okay. A white lie every now and then is completely fine, but when it is not acceptable is when someone lies about who they are.

There are so many different outcomes that can come from lying such as losing people’s trust, getting a bad reputation, and lying just turning into your personality.

Some people lie so much they become compulsive liars, every word out their mouth is a lie. They do not even think twice about telling the truth, lying to them is just natural. When you are constantly on the receiving end of a lie and the person continues to spread misinformation and it builds up lie after lie, it really gets under your skin. From a personal experience I have had from the buildup of lies from one person was a fudgy experience.

In that situation my friend lied about everything, but it was not until he was eating a chocolate chip cookie that really pushed me over the edge, because he told me he did not like chocolate weeks before. But watching him devour that chocolate chip cookie had me fuming. Someone lying about something so simple as not liking chocolate was just the last straw.
