Sports for all students

javelinas enjoy fun competition

The Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) 2024 intramural sports spring season is just a few short weeks away with sign-ups now open. This semester TAMUK is offering more than seven different intramural playable sports opportunities, in which all athletes can participate.

With teams having the option of being both co-ed and non-co-ed these teams are totally free to join and play in. These sports range from bubble ball soccer and flag football to sand volleyball and softball. Registration for all these sports is now open with different season start dates so you can try them all.

With such a variety of intramural sports it gives everyone a chance to participate and get some fun exercise. Students are encouraged to join with friends or by themselves to meet new people.

While spots are limited, teams are always looking for new players to fill in or you can create your own team. Many students play in leagues year-round in the fall semester and spring semester to meet new people and hang out with friends, like student Sierra Sandoval.

“I would definitely do it again and I recommend it to anyone who has the time. It’s always fun being able to play an organized sport and meet new people,” Sandoval said. To get started and signed up you have to go on the Intramural Leagues website and login with your K number which can be reached here https://recsports.tamuk.edu/IMLeague.
